Why Labour's strategy of assuming left-leaning voters will inevitably return to the fold before the next general election could well prove to be a disastrous one
Keir Starmer’s advisers have made a calculated bet that they don’t need to worry too much about all the voters they have lost to other left wing parties since the general election.
Their calculation is based on the idea that when faced with the choice between a Farage or Starmer Government, the vast majority of left-leaning voters will ultimately return to the fold.
But will they really?
