Conservative MPs say they will use this loophole in Boris Johnson's 'lobbying crackdown' to keep their second jobs
Conservative MPs acting as paid consultants for private companies have spotted a glaring loophole in the Prime Minster's proposals.
Boris Johnson gave into weeks of pressure on Tuesday to act on the lobbying scandal engulfing his party.
He announced a plan which appears to impose new restrictions on MPs acting as 'paid political consultants’ for private companies.
However, while Johnson’s latest U-turn has angered many Conservative MPs, others say they are “relaxed” about the plan and believe they have spotted a likely intentional loophole in the proposals that will, in practice, allow them to carry on just as before.
