If last week’s Conservative party conference was unlike any I have ever been to before, then so was Labour’s gathering in Liverpool.
After year’s of watching the party either slump into despair, or openly tear itself apart, this week’s conference felt very different.
As I wrote for Byline Times, at packed conference fringe events and evening parties, Labour MPs and activists could barely contain their excitement about what now looks like an almost certain return to Government next year.
Yet amid the optimism about retaking power, anxiety is growing about whether Keir Starmer really knows what he wants to do with it.
