If you want to know the root cause of Labour’s defeat in the local elections you only need to look at some recent remarks by the Home Secretary.

Speaking to Labour right podcaster Matt Forde last month, Shabana Mahmood boasted about how she had told “white liberals” heckling her about her immigration plans to “f*** right off”.

As I commented at the time: “let’s see how this strategy of telling “white liberals” to “f*** right off” works out in the local elections.

Well now we have the answer.
