2026 is set to be a truly pivotal year in British politics, which could decide whether or not Nigel Farage and Reform head to Downing Street.

Decisions taken within the next few months will either make or break the Labour Government and determine whether or not Britain is on course for some deeply dangerous times.

Having covered British politics for almost two decades I know that making good political predictions is rarely easy.

Yet while much remains in flux, there are a series of defining events which I believe are more likely and not to happen over the next 12 months.

Here are my six political predictions for 2026.
