'Operation Save Big Dog' has only made things worse for Boris Johnson

Conservative MPs believe their 'Big Dog' will soon have to be taken on a one-way trip to the vets.

Is this the end for Boris Johnson? The Daily Mirror reported on Friday that the police have a photo of the Prime Minister drinking beer at his own birthday party in Downing Street.

The photo, which was taken by the Prime Minister’s own taxpayer-funded photographer, would appear to destroy any remaining hopes that he can escape from the net of lies he has tangled himself in over recent weeks.

The news led to an immediate call for him to resign from former Conservative minister Nick Gibb.

Gibb said in a statement that “I am sorry to say that it is hard to see how it can be the case that the Prime Minister told the truth.”

Gibbs’ statement is the latest in a now daily trickle from Conservative MPs urging the Prime Minister to call it a day.

So is this it? Is the game now up for Johnson?
