“I cannot be bought,” Nigel Farage told The Sun this week.

As political lies go, this has to be right up there as the biggest.

In recent years Nigel Farage has received more funding from big corporate interests than any politician in our history.

Just last week it was revealed that he had secretly trousered £5 million from the crypto-billionaire Christopher Harborne, on top of the more than £9 million he had already handed Reform UK.

Harborne is not the only one filling Farage’s coffers.

This was on top of the more than £2 million he had previously banked for corporate speeches, hospitality and his work promoting gold bars.

Because the truth is that, despite his many denials, Farage is by some distance the most bought and paid for politician in the UK.

And as he crawls ever closer towards power, his funders are starting to get more than their money’s worth in return.
