There are serious questions about the funding, records and associations of the leading candidates in the Conservative leadership contest, which almost nobody in the media seems willing to talk about
In less than two weeks time we will know who is likely to become the next leader of the Conservative party, after Tory MPs whittle down their candidates to the final two.
That person will then, if ultimately chosen by party members, be in a prime position to fight and potentially win the next general election.
Yet aside from a handful of soft touch interviews with friendly journalists, none of the main candidates have been subjected to any real sustained scrutiny during this contest.
And there is much to scrutinise. Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, all of the leading contenders have long and troubling records that very few people in the media seem willing to talk about.
