The sheer horror of Donald Trump’s second term as President of the United States is becoming clearer by the day.
Whether it’s his abandonment of the United States’ closest allies, his handover of public assets to oligarchs, his attacks on lawyers, academics and journalists, his attempted imperial incursion into a NATO country, or his arbitrary ‘disappearance’ of people to foreign gulags, it is no surprise that so many US citizens are already voluntarily fleeing the country.
Yet as America’s descent accelerates, very few of his prominent supporters in the UK seem willing to admit their own hand in what is now happening.
Indeed, far from acknowledging the current disaster and apologising for their own role in it, most of the British Trumpists seem intent on doubling down on their support for the worst President America has ever had.
