I was pleased to be joined by the great pollster Peter Kellner this morning for an in depth discussion about Andy Burnham’s huge victory over Reform in the Makerfield by-election.
Peter was almost alone among election experts to predict a big Burnham win in this contest, suggesting that the pollsters and pundits could have been greatly underestimating the scale of his support in the constituency.
Unfortunately we suffered some technical problems meaning we lost our host Adrian Goldberg for most of the discussion, but Peter provided some fascinating insights into what is really happening with the big shifts we are now seeing in British electoral politics.
