It is now almost certain that Conservative MPs will get a vote on whether to keep Boris Johnson as their leader and Prime Minister.

The sheer number and range of Conservative MPs publicly declaring their lack of confidence in Johnson over recent days suggests that events have shifted against him.

The addition of Andrea Leadsom, who was previously a vocal supporter of the Prime Minister, to the list of discontents, will be particularly worrying for Downing Street.

The lack of an organised, or spontaneous, movement to speak up in his defence, also suggests that the PM’s time is likely running out.

So does this mean that Johnson will soon be ousted as PM?
